Hello guys, I have a trouble setting up my custom domain, I’ve read and translate “Connect a custom domain | Webflow University” tonn of times, but I can’t solve the problem. It’s my first experience with site building/publishing/domains/hostings and etc, so mb solution of the problem seems simple enough, but not for me now.
What should I type in hostname at site where I’ve bought my domain name?
Some screens:
Hi there, I recently added a custom domain to webflow, and it was pretty easy… the screenshot you show shows the NS1, NS2 entries, and I think those are for name servers, but what you want to do, is to setup a couple of “A-Records” on the site where you got your domain.
I am in Finland, close to russia, but don’t speak any russian So I am not sure, but look to see if those drop down box say anything about a-record. You can also try pasting in the webflow IPs in those NS1, NS2 boxes, and then specify in the drop down that those are A-records, but I could be mistaken how your domain site company software panel works…
There might be a box with a place to setup A-records and also CNAME records, you might need to check with the company you are getting your domains from, and ask them, where you put in the A-Records using their domain system…
You want to add two records as “A-Records”:
54.225.115.32
54.221.217.126
Once you do that, save your changes, then go back to Webflow and click on Check Status, to see if webflow can detect it is all setup ok…
Other than that, I suggest just to contact to the domain site you are getting the domains from, and ask them about the a-records… they might even be able to add it for you…
Those a-records, will basically route all traffic that come in to that domain name to the webflow servers which are at:
54.225.115.32
54.221.217.126
Hope that helps !
Cheers
Oh, man, thank u so much, now I’m on right path.
ok good to hear Your welcome, happy site building
Man, thanks again, now it works.
“the screenshot you show shows the NS1, NS2 entries, and I think those are for name servers, but what you want to do, is to setup a couple of “A-Records” on the site where you got your domain.” - the key to solve problem.
