Search Console has identified that some pages on my site are not being indexed due to the following new reason: soft 404 how to solve this
Hi there,
Soft 404 errors occur when a page returns a success status code (200) but actually indicates that the content is not found. To properly handle these errors and improve your site’s SEO, you can implement these solutions:
Setting up 301 redirects will automatically send visitors from old URLs to new ones, preventing soft 404 errors when pages are moved or renamed. You can manage your redirects in the Webflow Designer under Site Settings > Custom Code > Redirects.
Additionally, you can use the Sitemap indexing toggle to control which pages search engines should index. This helps ensure that search engines only index your active, content-rich pages while excluding temporary or inactive ones.
Hopefully this helps! If you still need assistance, please reply here so somebody from the community can help.
Example URLs?
Basically means that Google has found some pages that are effectively empty of content, and it thinks they should be returning 404’s instead of 200’s.
