Migrating CMS urls to new website

Hi,

I’ve just completed a redesign of my website, which (based on some posts here) I’ve created on a new website all together.

I’ve done an export > import process with my CMS collections (which by the way was kindda annoying since you have to recreate the collection structure by hand :see_no_evil:).

so far so good :muscle:

Now my question is about the hosted files linked to the cms items (e.g. images).

So I’ve noticed the urls are the same, and if I understand it correctly the url includes the original website id in it, which made me wonder what would happen if I delete the old project after the migration.

I found some posts here that have some contradictory information. some say that you need to ask webflow to delete files from the CDN, some say that if you delete a project, webflow will delete the files after some undefined period.

Does anyone know if they will actually delete the assets of the old deleted website? and if so, is there a way to migrate them without manually copy pasting every single image url? :see_no_evil:

When you import images using the CMS CSV import, Webflow automatically uploads those images into your new file store. Doesn’t matter where they were originally stored… Webflow, Wordpress, other, doesn’t matter.

You will no longer need those URLs.

If you look at the published HTML and the URLs, you can see that, they’ll be different from the original ones, and they’ll contain your new site ID.
