I’m trying to work on a client project with quite a tight deadline, hence the sprinkling of stress.
Has anyone else noticed a lot of buggy behaviour on Webflow today or recently?
I don’t know if it’s related to all the updates their rolling out at the moment, but server status seems mostly fine, however I’ve experienced the following all within about 5 hours:
I was trying to replace an image earlier, tried changing the name, file size, etc. nothing worked. Webflow just seemed to “remember” an old image and wouldn’t stop showing it in the designer or published site. Weirdly, I deleted the class of the image and used a new one, which fixed the problem.
I have a collection list of articles. There are 10 published articles in my CMS, however when I try load any up in collection list elements or pages, it says I have no collection items
I tried deleting a font in my site settings and got an error saying I need to be authenticated to do that (even though I was logged in). It told me to try log out and login so…
I tried logging out. No matter how many times I tried logging out, a screen flashes up saying I’m logged out, then the page refreshes and I was still logged in. Tried this several times and I literally could not log out of my own Webflow account. So…
I tried clearing cookies, which logged me out (yay). But now when I try login, I fill in my details and Webflow gives an error “Missing email or username” - I can assure you the field is filled out. The same happens on an incognito window.
I know feature rollouts aren’t always smooth, but some clarification would be great . Or some warning. Or I’m just venting, I don’t know.
Yours faithfully,
A stressed Webflow developer
Quick update: I used Firefox instead of Chrome to try log into my account, and I managed to actually login to my Webflow account again! (Yay for Firefox). Sadly I need to use the Chrome Relume extension.
Yep, lots of odd behaviour for me too, but none that you have mentioned.
One that keeps coming back, is this one (in various formats). I drag in a div, and instead of an empty div, I find it created a whole asset, perhaps a ‘card’ with a classname, as a flexbox, with content inside, such as heading and text below. It’s like I had an entire ‘styled’ asset waiting in ‘Add Elements’ area to drag in. It has been happening on/off for several weeks.
More generally, the CMS is really slow to save, it hangs, and sometimes locksup. E g: Create Blog, press save ‘freezes’.
Yep I had the exact same behaviour actually, I would create an empty div and then a component I already have made with it’s class name will appear instead.
My login issue was fixed though. It turned out to actually be my antivirus wasn’t playing nice with the Webflow login form and made Webflow think my email field was empty for some reason.
Another one I’ve had a couple times recently is where there is a class “hanging on” to a certain elements like here. As the class is not visible you can’t delete it, but it’s styles still apply. Kind of strange. Not sure if there’s a report bug feature in Webflow for this type of thing?
Yep that’s the exact behaviour I was having, although for me, it just started working at some point, I don’t believe I did anything to fix it.
One fix I saw online (that didn’t work for me but it may work for you), is to add a filter and then take it off. See if that helps, but I think it is just a bug.
Putting more stuff here, and I don’t know if it’s particularly useful, but it’s useful for me to vent and also see if anyone else is experiencing these issues…
Today (just before launching a site, yay), I’ve been checking pages on my site and noticed that the rich text fields on my collection pages have just been unlinked from the CMS data, though weirdly they “remembered” the CMS data for one of the CMS items and just displayed that, but because it was unlinked, it obviously showed that for every page.
I luckily noticed, but I have no idea what caused the fields to unlink. Very weird behaviour.
