Which domain extensions are best alternative?

If I have a business name that isn’t taken but in order to get it I have to go through a broker and all that nonsense. What are the best alternatives as a freelance web designer?

I am mainly looking at .biz, .co (I am concerned people will just confuse this with .com), .io or .agency.

Any opinions on the best options or what the differences are?

Thanks

The domain name is an important part of your SEO, but it’s probably more important to accessibility. As long as it’s easy to type, remember, and verbally share, it should be OK.

In general research I’ve done, .com .org are far superior from Google’s perspective. For people searching from a specific country like the UK, ccTLDs have a lot of ranking strength so co.uk is highly relevant there.

Other TLDs appear to be equally “less relevant”, since they don’t help Google target a site to an audience, and they’re generally less weighty compared with com.

I avoid columbia .co for globally-targeted sites for the same confusion reason, plus the rules and pricing can change any time.

Something clear like .design is probably ok, just be aware that e.g. danielhughesdesign.com is likely to rank better.

thanks this helps me make an informed decision
