Where do you download a template you've already purchased?

I bought a couple templates. Played around with them. Messed up. Now I’d like to download them again from scratch. Cannot find where to do it anywhere. Not in purchases. If I go back to the templates, it appears I have to buy them again. I understand these are single-use license but this is not my situation. Thanks.

I think, it has to be confirmed by someone from Webflow, that you don’t buy a template but a licence to use one template, for one site. So if you want it to use it again, you need to repurchase.

Now if you messed it up, you should email support@webflow.com with the details and kindly ask what they can do for you. And next time maybe duplicate it before starting, so you get a backup. Making a duplicate isn’t, I think, a workaround to use it several time for several sites. It’s like if I copy a font, it doesn’t mean I own the usage licence for it.

Hi @joe_in_brooklyn, thanks for your post. I am sorry to hear about the trouble. You can reuse the template, by first deleting the original site, then go to create a new website as normal. While creating the new site, select the template you purchased and give the site name and url to use and then click on the Re-use Template button to create your site based on the template you have already purchased.

Thanks. Is it necessary to delete my first site? I am teaching myself Webflow and have bought a few Paid templates to look at the code and settings. If I delete my first site then I won’t see anything in my “sandbox” site.

Also, maybe I’m doing it wrong, but how do I copy/paste from one of my sites to another. Is that possible? I did the usual copy/paste but it doesn’t appear to work.

Hi @joe_in_brooklyn, thanks for the followup. You don’t need to delete your first site while you are just working around with the templates :smile: The template license is good for one published site, but you can make multiple design copies, we operate on the trust system.

You may need to delete your site, if you have no more sites left in your dashboard (i.e. your dashboard is already filled with sites).

It is not possible currently to paste from one site to another, it is something we want to add support for, the ability to copy and paste between site projects. One approach is to duplicate the site, and on the duplicate, delete the things you do not need in the new copy. This is probably the main workaround for that at the moment.
