Repurchasing Templates on Clone

We used to be able to opt out of repurchasing templates when cloning a site. I only had to “opt out” when I was trouble shooting larger webflow related issues with a site (i had issues with webflow not displaying current content, etc. shortly after the CMS went live) Now it is mandatory?

When Purchasing a template, it is only good for one license on your dashboard. If you want to clone the purchased template you’ll need to purchase another license.

Hope this clears up any confusions

So how will this work with troubleshooting. Can Webflow staff clone sites for me if I run into CMS issues again and need to troubleshoot?

Also, if I delete a template-based site completely, can I start another site using that same template at no-cost as long as I only have one site using it in the dashboard?

Sometimes I will use a template as a base for a site then HEAVILY customize that site… then I may want to clone that site at a later date. Is there a way to offer a template re-purchase price that is less than the full price?

If there is a bug, just report it to support@webflow.com and we’ll run our usual tests on it.

You should be able to. If not, just repurchase it again and send an email to us for a refund.

That’s a good suggestion! You might want to start a post about that in the Wish List.

Thanks. To the first bullet. The last time I ran into issues it took nearly 24 hours to sort everything out with the CMS. So what I did was clone the site (which temporarily fixed the issue) and continue working until the issues crept up (then clone it again)… this way I could continue to move forward with the site’s design. A rare case but it was still nice to be able to clone the site knowing that in good faith I wasn’t creating 5 copies of it.
