Website down - guest access downgraded owner access

Hi

I’ve got freelancer guest access to a website. I tried to downgrade my subscription but it downgraded the owner access. The website is now down.

I can’t get hold of the “owner” access company until Monday (business hours).

I tried to upgrade the subscription back to CMS level (where it was) but it won’t allow me to pay ‘User not authorised’ even though I changed the credit card to my credit card – for this owner subscription.

I’ve raised two tickets with Webflow. Waiting to hear back. Can anyone help or share how it can be resolved?

Thank you!
Kate

Sounds like you’ve downgraded the Site Plan, and probably canceled it. The owner will still have full access.

Authorizing payment on the workspace-owner’s account as a guest- yes that’s probably restricted to protect the owner. Are you saying your CC is on their Workspace account?

The only thing I can think of is a bit of a mess…

Clone the site. Transfer the clone to your workspace. Setup hosting on the clone ( which means DNS changes for the TXT verification record ). Very messy and you’ll likely make things worse, and then you’ll have to reverse all that in 48h hours.

Sorry I don’t have any easy options here.

Unfortunate too, very soon seamless site transfers is coming and that will open up some additional options.

HI Michael, thanks so much for taking the time to review and give me your considered response. Much appreciated.

Thankfully, Webflow support came back to me late last night and reinstated the correct plan. And instructed me to reconnect the domain. Website is back up

Yes, a bit of a mess. It’s inconceivable to think I could access the owner’s plan from my guest account. To renew the subscription it defaulted to their CC on their account, but I of course would not use their CC so I used the ‘change CC details’ button to add mine (in the upgrade plan section) but it gave me the error message “user is not authorized to perform this action”. So the owner was protected from the billing details to be amended, but the owner wasn’t protected from me inadvertently accessing their plan and downgrading it.
