When, I’m trying to create a new item in Webflow, getting the validation error -
[400] ValidationError: ‘fields.slug’ invalid input
I’ve added the option field reference IDs in Airtable. Please help.
This error means you tried to set a value to the Webflow slug field with invalid data. The slug must only contain letters, numbers, and/or dashes (nothing else).
Tip: you don’t have to set a value for the slug. If you don’t, Webflow will automatically generate the slug for you based on the Name value.
PS: If you’re looking for an easier way to sync Airtable to Webflow, give PowerImporter a try.
+1 to ^ comment. This error means the slug field you’re trying to send to Webflow has invalid data.
Just to expand on that, a slug might be invalid if it has spaces, question marks, @ symbols, etc.
If you’re going from Airtable to Webflow in the future though, I’d recommend using Whalesync’s Airtable x Webflow sync. Slugs still need to be valid (either set by you or automatically by Webflow), but everything else should be much simpler
