Unclear Workspace Plan

This is the last chance to keep me from leaving Webflow, so I’ll keep it short:

I have two websites running right now. So far, the “Starter” workspace plan has been completely sufficient.

I have also used “custom code” in these two said websites.

However, on the workspace plans overview page it says that “custom code” is only available for the “Core” plan.

What does this mean for me in concrete terms? Am I forced to switch to Core and suddenly pay $228 more in one go?

Thanks for your help and best regards

If you have a site plan as well, this will enable those features like custom code.

The Workspace plan is beneficial if you are building sites but haven’t purchased hosting yet.

If every site you ever make always has hosting, you won’t need a Workspace plan as well.

Dear Drew

So since I have a “Basic” and “CMS” site plan — both plans providing the function “custom code” —for the two said websites, the workspace “Starter” is fine.

Alright then, thank you very much for your answer!

Kind regards.

You got it!

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi Drew_Schafer.

I am having issues. I paid for the Core Workspace and want to add a custom Domain to my site when I click it states I am in the stater and I need to upgrade my plan. But I already paid 228 for the Core Workspace plan and want to add a custom domain and use the forms. The reason I paid for the Core Workspace its because I wanted a custom domain and forms.

Hi Alba,

Workspace plans are for designing sites. They’re most popular for teams that are designing a lot of sites, and who need access to the full set of features. Workspace plans give you full tooling access before sites are published.

Site plans are for hosting sites. When a site is complete and ready for hosting, you add a site plan, add a domain, etc. depending on that site’s specific hosting needs - CMS, ECom, etc.

If you’re building only one site, you don’t need a workspace plan. Since you paid for a year, I’d contact Webflow support, refund that plan and apply it to a Site plan instead.
