I recently recreated our main (desktop only) navigation, created a symbol and replaced the original nav bar with the new one. There should be only 29 instances of the symbol, but the panel is showing 838.

The number of symbols has changed from 883 to 779 - any ideas of what might be causing this or how to fix it?
Sorry for the delayed response. Seems like the counting on that is a little buggy. If you open each page, that number will go down:
