We need to do updates which include all kinds of pre-existing Word documents, Canva flyers, and PDF’s. I can’t find a way to make use of any of it in Webflow. I’ve read and tried all kinds of forum posts about using Google Docs as an intermediary, saving Word docs as HTML, saving as images, on and on and on…
(I guess saving/pasting as images sorta works, but only for users on a full screen monitor) Nothing works for me and it is all really time-consuming and difficult even if it did work. I would sure love to hear a recommendation on how to make use if these docs. Recreating everything from scratch inside Webflow just isn’t an option.
For docs which you want to become directly part of the HTML, convert them. Copy-paste into A Google Doc and then Copy-paste from there to a Webflow rich text element, you’ll keep the significant formatting.
You can also CTRL+SHIFT+V to paste without formatting, and then just hand format it.
For large client projects where I want to rework the content, I usually use AI to do things like table conversions, bullet list reformatting, etc. Webflow’s MCP is great for this as well as it can directly manipulate CMS items.
For docs where you need to preserve the exact formatting, I’d stick with PDFs and just upload them directly into assets.
