Implementing Gif w/ big file size >4MB

Hey Guys,
I’m new to webflow and excited to learn the amazing platform.
One of the huge things i want to accomplish in web design is implementing video content.
Since you’re not able to autoplay video on mobile i want to have a gif playing in the background.

I’ve stumbled upon a photographers portfolio with lots of gifs:

And i want to implement this gif:

on a project, but it’s >4MB so it’s not working…

Is there a workaround to this?

Thank yall in advance ;D

Hi @emilvs Welcome to the community!

Have you tried converting your GIF to a MP4 and using our background video element instead? Maybe that would help.

Yeah i’ve tried this method, but you can’t make it work on mobile, that’s my problem.
I would love a background/autoplay video on mobile… is there a way?

As long as autoplay on mobile is blocked i think gif is the way to go. That’s why i need to be able to upload high quality gifs, i really hope there is a way.

I highly believe in video content, that’s why i’m trying to break boundaries.

Also i’m so hyped for your upcoming ecommerce tool, this is gonna be a huge game changer!!!

this might help you

Thanks, so glad it’s finally working :grin::grin:

To Convert MP4 to GIF use VistaCreate
To cut frames, resize and reduce size further then use RedKetchup
