I find myself often not being able to use webflow

Hi!

I’m looking to start making new websites for clients, but I’ve always end up with something missing. First it was product variation (coming soon though), now its CMS gallery for a photographer. Webflow is amazing and I absolutely love designing in it, but I find myself too often not being able to provide certain features.

Good thing is that im starting to know what Webflow can do and cant do. I would be okay with finding alternatives, but usually it would mean a lot of techinal things for the customer to do or with my help.

I’m not here to complain, but just want to share my 2 cents. How are you guys dealing with missing features?

Can you try to explain what you are missing in the CMS Gallery?
Maybe I, or someone else know some workaround which could help you.

I’m fairly new to Webflow, but I’m used to code. I could custom code stuff, but I don’t really want to because Webflow kind of promised a while ago, that it should be possible to create websites without coding.

What I am missing is the tablet-landscape breakpoint/mode.
I need to adjust a lot of my designs because of this missing feature. So I think I’m using most custom CSS on that one.

I hope Webflow will enable a tablet landscape mode too…

My client is a photographer and he share his events on his current website. It could be like “Vegas 2018” and tons of images from that trip. There is lightbox, but I don’ think there is a quick way to add a lot of pictures quickly and easily. Also being able to make new of these trips.

CMS could be an option… but you have to pay to use it… and I don’t think there’s something like a bulk-upload for images… With CMS you could import via CSV but that’s a lot of work too and you can’t put images in a CSV file.

Maybe you can add a facebook plugin to the website?

Its something that I could look into, hopefully the photographer is okay with uploading everything to facebook.

We are currently working on a multi-image field in the CMS, but we don’t have an ETA on it:

But for now, there are custom code ways to make it happen. I did a quick search of this forum and found this tutorial:

Hope this helps

As for features, that are missing, you can add those to our wishlist and have others upvote it. That way we know which features should be next on our roadmap.

Thank you for providing an alternative, but it seems like it’s not possible to add images through the editor. I’m not sure I did it exactly right, but it works doing this through designer.

Cheers!
