How do you keep your old Webflow sites?

Hello community,

I’m currently on the freelancer plan with Webflow and it allows me to have 10 sites within the plan. I’m curious to know how you keep your old sites so that you don’t lose the old sites. When I archived the sites to make space for the newer sites, they’re gone. How do you keep/store their copies somewhere and can restore back if you need to?

I appreciate your sharing.

Thank you,
Annie

Hi Annie, I have about 150 sites, so Agency is a great way to go.
There isn’t a way to de-archive sites directly, so your best options are;

  1. upgrade to Agency
  2. simply export the HTML and CSV to save the content, but lose the designer project
  3. create a free workspace and push 2 into it. Not ideal either, but could sort of work. You won’t be able to edit it effectively there though, because you’ll be beyond the 2 page limit, and custom code won’t work.

It’s a bit of a shame. I made a wishlist item here, whether they address it or not I doubt it as it will mean less reasons to upgrade (and given they’ve just removed a couple of features from the Freelancer plan anyway, you assume they want most people on the agency plan, whether they’re an agency or not…).

I think a good work around would be to have 10 unhosted sites published to Webflow domains, but more if you’re unpublished, just to allow me access to my old sites via the designer if needed.
