How do I transfer the website to the client? What if the client doesn’t have a webflow account?

Hey there, I’m a young guy who wants to start a web design agency with Webflow (development) and Figma (building) but I have some questions and things I need to sort out first, any answer to these questions is deeply appreciated since I’m new to this and I’m kinda lost.

  1. How do I transfer the website to the client? Does my client necessarily need to have a Webflow account? And if the client does need a Webflow account, do they have to pay a plan?

Can the client make essential changes to the website easily (posting blogs, gathering emails, etc.) without requiring my assistance?

If my client already has a domain, what’s the simplest way to transfer that domain into the new website I will create for them?

And finally, if you don’t have answers to these questions but want to share how you deliver your websites to your clients I’d appreciate it, because I love designing websites but this side of things it’s still a little unclear to me.

Again, thanks for the support and taking the time to answer.

Hello @ornelasoe, welcome to the community!

So, if you want to transfer a website your client, then yes your client does need to have a Webflow account. They don’t need to have a workspace plan, they can have a free plan, but the website you transfer to them will need a site plan. Alternatively if your clients has a free account with a site plan, they can grant you access to that project and you can built it directly on their account. Clients can make changes to the website via the webflow editor, where they can create/delete/update blog post and other collections you create for them. If your client already has a domain provider and you want to connect the new website to their existing domain, you will have to update the DNS settings provided by Webflow into the domain provider settings. You can find videos on how to do all these things at Webflow.com. I hope this helps!
