Google Sheets > Webflow Zapier Trouble

I am having trouble getting the Google Sheets > Webflow Collection Zap working. It keeps running into issues with the Slug. And since its a mandatory but automatic in the CMS, I cannot forego the option to include and cannot figure out what formatting it wants in Zapier. I have gone back and forth with Zapier support and they are unable to give me a solution.

I need a solution to automatically upload content to a CMS collection. Is this the only way? Does anyone have a solution via Zapier or another method that works? Any help and suggestions would be awesome.

Welcome Ryan!

If you’re looking for a dead simple solution (and are willing to migrate your data to Airtable instead), then you can easily upload your content to the CMS using PowerImporter. It will take care of the slugs for you.

This takes the information from Airtable and puts it into Webflow? I could be willing to explore this.

Does it work with photos and URLs as well?

Yes, sorry, I should have clarified.

Yes, it puts all the data you want from Airtable, puts it into Webflow, and keeps Webflow in sync automatically when something changes in Airtable.

It also takes care of all the reference fields between your tables, and handles all field types: images, files, video links, rich text, checkbox, formulas, lookups, etc.

Try it out and feel free to email me if you need help or have more questions. My email is in the footer of the website when you are logged in.

This is great, but since we already have an account with Zapier, I would like to maintain using that. I will keep this in mind though, thank you!

You can use Airtable and Webflow via Zapier. With Airtable, you can use Finsweet’s NoBull app.

I create and update my CMS items in Coda.io (it’s like Airtable) via Zapier. I can create CMS drafts, live items, and update live items, even single and multi reference fields. (images yet to be tested)

The Zapier workflow is:

  1. Trigger: a new row added in Coda
  2. Webflow: create a live item
  3. Coda: update row with CMS item IDs from step 2.
  4. Webhook: PATCH the CMS item from step 2 with my single and multi reference fields (requires some coding, but doable, as I’m not a coder)
  5. Webflow: update CMS item from step 2 with single and multi reference fields

Hey guys, Michaela from Integromat here :slightly_smiling_face:

Since we’re talking automation, you might also wanna check out Integromat. It’s a no-code automation/integration platform that lets you connect to any public API and automate all kinds of workflows.

There’s actually a premade template for this - whenever a new row is added to a Google Sheet, a new collection is created in Webflow.

@RyanEpik Looks like you’ve got lots of options here already, but wanted to let share that we’re planning to launch a Google Sheets x Webflow integration to Whalesync soon. This will allow you to create a real-time, two-way sync between Sheets and Webflow.

In the meantime, if you’re open to migrating from Sheets to Airtable, our Airtable to Webflow sync is live and handles slugs, rich text, multi-reference fields, etc.
