Global Form Recipients Removed in Webflow’s New Custom Notifications — Risk of Missed Leads

What?

October 25: Webflow changed how form notifications work: global recipients no longer exist (Under site setting => Forms).

Now by default, only the account owner gets notified, and any other emails must be added per form.

By default, Webflow sends form notifications to the email address associated with your account. You can manage notification settings for each form individually in Webflow, allowing you to choose who’s notified and customize each notification email’s content.

“The Problem”:

I have no way of knowing what email addresses were in the old global list.
Is there any way Webflow can help recover the previous recipient list?

Example:

Website X: Previously, form submissions on a client’s site went to a global list of six client emails (I, as the site owner/admin, wasn’t included), but after Webflow’s update, only I receive notifications and the old recipients are lost, risking missed leads.

Positive side :tada:

On the positive side, this update is welcome because it finally allows full control over notification settings per form, letting you customize exactly who receives each submission (a very common scenario requested by clients).

My opinion (Best setting):

In my opinion, the ideal setup would keep a global list of recipient emails for the site, while still allowing per-form overrides, preventing missed leads and giving full control.

This was a bit of a face palm moment…

When this update came out, I was like “Woop! Finally!”. It’s a great update, super useful and something I’ve needed on previous sites but had to use 3rd party services to do. Great news.

Then I noticed there are no global settings anymore…

And for most of the sites I make for clients, all notifications go to the same email address and require the same formatting for the notification settings.

Now, I’m pretty sure I have to go through each form on the website and manually recreate the form settings for each form :man_facepalming:

This was a great update and provided a lot of people with what they needed but at the same time removed some very useful global functionality.

I have some sites with a fair few forms, so this becomes quite unmaintainable, unless I’m missing something. Is there no way to edit global form settings now? Or even change the “Reset to default” to be your own default?

As @Siton_Systems said, it’d be great to have the form tab back in the site settings which has global form settings, then form-level settings can override this via the designer (or even from the form tab in site settings where submissions are).

For anyone coming across this, I’ve made a wishlist item to bring back global form settings here.
