I recently launched the site and I am bombarded with Spam emails which seem to bypass all measures taken, such as honeypot field, logic flow, checkbox field, which does not seem to work and so on. And of course also switched on the antispam toogle in site settings.
Sending to webflow antispam mailbox does not work either, emails get rejected…
Can someone advice how to stop this? Otherwise the email form is unuseable!!
I opted against recaptcha due to site performance and cookie/GDPR issues for this European Site - not to talk about bad user experience with only V2 option given in Webflow.
When you say Bot blocking - I understand this is already done by putting this toggle to “on” in site settings. Is there anything else to do?
From looking at the Basin site, this is (yet another) paid for solution. I was hoping there is something, which does not cost any extra. Why can’t Webflow solve this with their “on board” tools on their servers?
Good point on the GDPR issues.
You could try implementing hCaptcha which is more GDPR-friendly.
You mentioned enabling spam filtering- you might double check to ensure you have bot blocking also enabled. It uses cloudflare turnstile which is considered quite effective.
There’s a reason that there is a whole industry of form-builders, anti-spam solutions and form submission processors. Forms and spam involve a lot of complex problems that have value to a lot of people.
That’s not Webflow’s area of specialization, so they do what they can, but I suspect that the free native solution will never really compete with solutions put out by the industry devoted to those problems.
