Hey team, I’ve been having significant recurring problems with my blog http://coachmike.live.
Recently the problem has gotten much worse and expanded to client sites. I just got a call from a new client who can’t finish out the content on her website since the editor is breaking. I’ve just verified this on my computer too, both on Chrome incognito mode, and on Edge, and the problem has started since I videoed editing for her about a week ago.
As before the main problems are centered on the Rich Text component-
Data is getting lost. Rich text exits are often just lost, they simply don’t update the server, even though it says “Saved”, and all of the edits are just deleted. I’ve lost a lot of writing recently this way.
Right now the editor’s in a catastrophic state- and it’s the whole reason I have been migrating all of my clients to Webflow, so that they can update their own sites. What do I do?
Sorry to hear about your recent editor issues. There is a known bug that affects the tool-tip feature.
You can get around this by using the Data Manager at the bottom of the Editor Window to make your changes from there. Also, the tool-tip still work in the Designer if you have access there as well.
If you are in the Designer, use Ctrl (CMD) + S to make all necessary saves.
If in the Editor, make sure to use the Data Manager to make your changes and then publish your updates.
Please let me know if you have any other questions,
That would be useful for collections only though? I have some unexplainable non-appearing tooltips on some of the static content, meaning it is impossible to use the editor. I think this is a recent bug?
What’s the update here? I just lost another article, all the edits sometimes just don’t save, no error, nothing… just… deleted. Sometimes they even revert to a previous version.
This all seems connected to the new “Edit Site” feature, because I can see sometimes it loses the changes and then “semi-logs out”, back to showing the Edit Site button without the toolbar. I click Edit Site again, but my changes are gone.
Hey Brandon, mad traveling season. I’m back in Auckland and the most recent fix seems to have fixes these issues as well, thanks! There were 3 or 4 issues which may have been interrelated-
content not saving (and reverting) in when you de-select the element. This was the most critical one, as we’d lose hours of work- not sure if it was limited to rich-text elements.
toolbar positioning over top of selected text (so a double-click to select a word triggers, eg an H2 styling event on the whole paragraph)
toobars positioning behind panels, so it’s inaccessible
At the moment, saving is working on my desktop, I’ll retest on my laptop as well. Toolbars are still slightly mis-positioned but I can work around that using the keyboard, and I think the problem might be specific to one purchase template, which I’m using on only one site - http://coachmike.live
