Complex Interaction with CMS filtering system has a small bug I cant figure out

I have built a very complex menu system that filters CMS but randomly when I click on an option it will close the menu.

This is the menu. For example, click on different options in the Subject dropdown and every third click or so, the menu will close. I have tried just adding an interaction that opens the menu everytime one of those buttons is clicked but it still closes.

Right this viewing # shows me the total CMS items but one I click a filter it doesnt update. If someone has a fix to that, that would also be great!
