Client side Editor login not working in Safari

Hi all, anyone experiencing issues in Safari when trying to access client end cms… ie using ?edit after domain.
I initially get a third party cookies error, then retry and get to ‘edit site’ button, then the browser sits idle.
Have noticed in many forums going right back to 2017, there’s been these type of problems.

(BTW, login works fine in Chrome)

Here is my site Read-Only: LINK

Webflow’s collaborator login requires third-party cookies to function. Safari blocks third-party cookies by default because they are a privacy nightmare.

The recommended workaround is for collaborators to disable the “Prevent cross-site tracking” feature in Safari’s Privacy preferences. But I would frankly sooner recommend people look for alternatives to Webflow than to compromise their online privacy in this way.

Technically the issue is that published Webflow sites exist under the webflow.io domain but the API used by collaborator logins is under webflow.com. Because the domains do not match, cookies set by webflow.com are third-party and thus blocked in Safari.

People have been complaining about this on the forum since 2018. It’s surprising that Webflow still doesn’t seem to consider this an issue. Macs, iPads and iPhones are pretty common these days.

I completely agree.

Webflow folks, can you tell us whether you’re planning to address this issue?

Amazing that no-one of Webflow is even bothering to solve this issue or at least contributes to this blog. This issue is common!

I have the same issue and they are getting anxious about it.

Typically, it’s only the Director that can’t login to her Editor account.

We have tried using many different accounts, removing the cookie settings (cross-site tracking and block all cookies) in Safari.

It’s also the same issue in Chrome. Despite adding the URL to the third-party cookie settings in Privacy and Security.

It gives them the third-party cookie warning or an invalid email/password error.

They cannot login at all and are very unhappy about it.

It’s doing my head in.
