I am trying to build a CMS for a client portfolio. Each client has their own page which within has a slider gallery.
I have looked into ways to do this but keep hitting a wall and not getting the correct result. I thought collection references might do it along with limit items. The idea being that inside a client portfolio collection, I multi-reference a chosen set of images from a separate collection (This image collection is an ever growing pot of all the images for every client).
Then within the slider which is on the client collection page template, add a collection list on each slide and choose limit items (from the images collection) and set which image (From the multi reference) I wish to show on which slide.
This works to some degree, but I have to have the same number of slides on every client portfolio page because the CMS will not allow me to set individual slide numbers per client portfolio. Also, I cannot find a way to mix images and videos without every client portfolio page having the same number of images/videos in the same order, again because of the CMS.
Is there a possible solution without using a third party?
