Hello, would it be possible to change the parameters of a collection simply by clicking a link without using plugins like finsweet (but maybe with some custom code I assume)?
I’m trying to simply change what the collection is showing by switching the filter from “Beverage” to “Grab & Go” for example. Just like a Filter list.
Finsweet, Mixitup, Isotope, Jetboost… these are all script based solutions, you could certainly build your own but many of these are free and well-established.
I think your underlying answer was “can I dynamically change Webflow’s filter setting”, and no, that filter setting determines what is published into the page at publish time.
Depending on your site design though, you could just use a collection page for that “Category”, and each is filtered to “Current Category”. That way you have a page just for bevs and another just for grab & go, and you can switch between them with standard buttons. links, or a nav.
Perfect. The only reason why I’m looking for embeded code is because I’m converting the theme to a Shopify through Udesly. But I’ll test all of these options. Thank you guys so much.
You could build your own but it will be quite a bit of work- I believe Mixitup and Isotope are open source so you could possible download and embed the script directly in the page?
But I’m not understanding why embedding is a criteria you’re after, I would suspect Finsweet CMS filter will work just as well on the exported Shopify template as it does on a hosted site, because it will likely have the same page structure and attributes.
I’d approach this by doing a very simplistic FS filter build and then do the Udesly to Shopify export and check the result.
From a first attempt with Finsweet, it looks like these only work on CMS, but not product lists correct?
The issue is that to work properly, the udesly app converts ecommerce product on webflow into shopify products.
Since " Human support available for [Finsweet + users." I’m not able to get in touch with their support to know more…
FS Filter works on the HTML and page structure, so it whether FS Filter will work in your situation depends on how Udesly changes the Webflow-generated HTML.
I believe it works with Products just as well as general CMS collection lists. Obviously, work out the setup details and get your filtering working in staging before you do the Udesly export.
Finsweet+ support is worth it if you want to work out a solution
Since you’re building a Shopify template I’d also look into plug-in solutions designed specifically for that platform and tech stack.
