this may be obvious, but I don’t seem to be able to nail it.
Is it possible to have a side navigation of categories on the blog ‘landing’ page?
And when a client ads a new category from a post, the side nav is auto-updated, similar to how WordPress works (just to give a reference).
Thanks a lot
Here is my site Read-Only: LINK
(how to share your site Read-Only link)
Absolutely! You need to create a CMS collection called categories. In the Blog page you need to design a sidebar that contains a collection list element. Next you need to connect the collection list element to the CMS categories collection. If there is a new category in the CMS collection it will be automatically added to the Blog categories sidebar.
Hope this helps.
If you need help feel free to text me.
A big cheers @PiterDimitrov!
Straight to the point, thanks pal!
The structure in general:
(home > blog)page:
- Page list of all posts (without any filtering).
& sidebar collection list for categories (Usefull to convert this to symbol).
Two collections (posts & blog-category) & collection pages:
(home > posts > my-post)
(home > /blog-category/news)
For B page:
- Add posts collection list
- Add filter “
current blog category”:
very cool @Siton_Systems , thanks a lot for all of that!
@PiterDimitrov @Siton_Systems I a trying to figure out what you have done here. Is there a video anywhere walking through these steps. I am not understanding how the linking to the category pages works.
Not a video…Maybe tomorrow I can send a video back to you. It’s late here and I’m going to bed.
