I’m having a major issue with Webflow not inheriting styles.
For some reason, no styling changes that I make in the Body (All Pages), any of the All HX Headings etc… are cascading down to other elements on the site. This means that I can’t change any typography, colour, decoration, or anything else on any element other than at the highest level of specifity (ie, explicitely named classes.)
As you can imagine, this has halted the progress of development, as we don’t want to power ahead re-defining styles for each individual object, as that’s a semantics nightmare.
I can’t recall this having been an issue in the past, so I’m not sure why it’s suddenly occurred. Any help would be hugely appreciated.
I thought that it might have been an issue with a specific file, but I’ve created a new file for the purposes of testing and demonstrating the issue (below), and it’s still happening. In this example, I’ve tried defining the body font-family: Roboto, and the All H1, H2, and H3 as using font-family: Roboto Slab respectively. Unfortunately, the sidebar may read that it’s inheriting ‘Roboto’ from the body, but it is still displaying the default ‘Arial’ both in the designer, and when published.
Horrifically, I’ve just discovered that reloading the page actually wipes out these changes, so it seems that the changes I’m making to the parent classes are not being captured.
Thanks
EDIT: This appears only to happen with new sites. Styles on sites that were build previously all appear to cascade correctly. Interestingly, duplicating an existing project and stripping out all of the styles allows me to define those high-level CSS values and it will inherit correctly; so there appears to be some distinction between these and new projects that are being created.
