Not sure if this is the same issue other people have been encountering.
I problem I’ve been encountering is - switching between Design and Preview Modes.
For example:
In Design Mode… I select the Preview Icon
The website shifts into Preview Mode…
Then I select the Preview Icon again… to return to Design Mode…
and Webflow doesn’t respond. At all.
Selecting the icon does nothing. Waiting for 2 hours does nothing.
So with this specific issue - they only way to fix the issue to close the browser.
I’ve seen this happen every fews days or so. It’s been happening for several months. It just hasn’t irritated me enough to yell about it.
BUT That’s why I went out and found OneTab.
And it does fix the issue of me having 50 browser windows open at one time…
but I just encountered the issue again - with 3 tabs open.
So in summary: This problem may not be related to the number of tabs you have open at any given time.
It’s not that the application dies… crashes, etc… I think the Webflow Designer gets caught in a loop and cannot get out of it.
Devs: Somewhere in the application - in the switching modes section (between Design -><- Preview)… there needs to be timer established (even if it’s just for debugging)… so if it takes to long to switch - a message is displayed (which is important) and the Mode is automatically switched to Design.
Hi @Revolution, this sounds like a different case than the designer lagging, could you help to share the read-only link to the site?
Also, what browser is being used, what version and what operating system?
Does the issue happen on all pages or just a single page? Does the issue happen for you on multiple sites, or just really large sites with lots of classes and images?
I have not been experiencing this issue on any sites I have been looking at, and would like to get more information so that I can check this out. If you do not want to share the site link publicly, you can also send me a DM and I will be happy to take a look further.
