Using svg logos and icons with html embed

I’m trying to use html embed to bring in my svg logos and icons so that I can control the colour with currentColor.

Unfortunately, I get the ‘This embed will only appear on the published/exported site’ grey box. I understand that I can publish to see these, but it’s not very helpful in planning alignment and padding etc.

Is there a way to see these in the designer?

No, the only way is preview on published site.
