I’ve been having an issue uploading images via Safari.
I’ve had to revert to using Chrome. Can this be corrected.
Seconded. I see this too. Any updates on this webflow team?
I tested this on both OS X El capitain and Sierra, same issue. It’s not persistent, most of the time image uploading works.
It’s annoying as Safari is my primary browser, I have to halt the workflow, save my text changes. open chrome and continue just to get my image uploaded.
Thanks for posting this, this definitely sounds like odd behavior.
We did have a brief issue with uploading images in Sierra, but we pushed a fix for this.
That said, what sites are you seeing this issue occur in? When did it start occurring? Can you send me the site Read-Only links please?
Can you please send me screenshots / recordings of the behavior when trying to upload an image?
Can you please try the following:
(1) Try to reproduce the error while being logged into Webflow using Incognito mode with browser extensions turned off: Browse in private - Computer - Google Chrome Help
(2) If the problem persists, please take a screenshot of your Console and send it to me: Chrome DevTools - Chrome Developers
Could you please let me know what browser version you’re using by sending me your information from this page?
There should be a small share link when you visit the page which you can send to me.
Thanks in advance!
Hey Brandon! small world - it’s me shahram =) hope things are going well for you! Working on a new startup datacue.co and this time around I’m learning webflow myself to build it.
Here’s the info you requested:
Read only link → https://preview.webflow.com/preview/datacue?preview=031b588aac887f85beab3d1f8d33b02c
Browser → Safari 11 on Mac OS X (El Capitan)
The issue occurs in the CMS section, when uploading an image for a blog post. On Safari, the progress indicator appears but never completes. In my experience, it happens after a few successful image uploads and then stops working at which point I need to fire up Chrome.
I’ll post what you asked the next time I experience it, the console log and trying incognito mode.
Hey @shrumm —When I saw your username I had a feeling it was you!
datacue.co sounds like an awesome project and it’s cool to hear you are using Webflow for it!
Thanks for providing that additional information. I’ll use those steps and try to reproduce the behavior on this end as well. I’ll post back here when I have more information!
Thanks again for bringing this up
Hi @shrumm
Thanks again for posting about this. I was able to reproduce this behavior in your project.
I have notified the team of this and we will continue to investigate hoping to a have a resolution soon.
I’ll post back here with more information when I receive an update. In the mean time there are two workarounds here you can use:
- Use Chrome when working on the blog posts
- Use the Editor when working on blog posts (I tested this in Safari and was able to upload images)
Cheers!
Perfect, thanks @Brando ! i’ll stick with Chrome for now then… have a good one!
It looks like this issue has been resolved.
Can you please test and confirm that you can upload images into an RTE using Safari?
Thanks in advance, and I’m standing by for your reply.
thanks @Brando - I’m done with website development so this isn’t an issue for me at this point so I’m happy for you to close it. I’ll let you know if come across this again. Have a great weekend!
