Hi,
My client recently purchased a competitor’s business and their domain and webflow website.
The domain is now in his control, in his Godaddy account, and I’ve set up DNS in Cloudflare.
For some reason, he has the website and content in his own webflow account, but the domain is still referencing the old webflow account belonging to the previous owner.
I have all the correct settings for DNS in Cloudflare, but when I use the domain checker, it shows both missing and wrong DNS records, even though I have the exact DNS records the checker tells me to add.
I suspect that the fact that this domain name was (and probably still is) associated to a different Webflow account is the problem. I have full control over the DNS, is there any way for me to make sure our Webflow account gets used and not the previous owners?
Or, will we need to contact the previous owners to have them “release” the domain? If so, how does that work?
thanks!
