Opacity effect slider not working

My issue is the opacity slider in the effects tab does not affect my text link elements. The goal is to make these text links invisible for all breakpoints below the desktop. Thanks for the help in advance.

Fixed it the issue was something to do with the breakpoints. I resized my first mobile breakpoint to its maximum width and that cause the opacity function to not work.
