My website only loads with www prefix

I recently set up a custom domain for my website using my domain purchased from Dreamhost but I’m only able to access my website with the www prefix. If i try going to the website without the www prefix, I get an ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT error. Please help

Here’s my setting on dreamhost

A: name - @ Value - 75.2.70.75

A: name - @ Value - 99.83.190.102

CNAME: name - www Value - proxy-ssl.webflow.com

Txt: name - _webflow Value - one-time-verification=xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx

What’s the domain?

Double-check your settings my first guess would be that you’ve forgotten to delete some old A records.

My domain is adarafoundation.org.

I used the guide on webflow

At a glance everything looks setup correctly;

  • Only Webflow’s 2 A records
  • www CNAME
  • Looks like you have localization activated
  • Looks like you have the www set as the default domain

For me, accessing https://adarafoundation.org works as it should, and redirects to https://www.adarafoundation.org

Chances are you just have old DNS entries in your browser cache or on your router.

I’ve tried on mobile and I’ve sent the links to friends and its the same error

I suppose it’s possible that it’s CDN related.

If your friends are all on other networks then that’s the most likely scenario as to why it works fine for me but not for you. You could unpublish and republish.

If that doesn’t fix it you’ll want to contact Webflow support.
