Foxy has come such a long way and things you have done are quite great. So, is the marketplace functionality what is the Platform version of Foxy? Or are these different? Or is Marketplace functionality built then into all plans of Foxy? I would like to talk to someone at Foxy is that possible?
Hi @DavidK.
Thank you for your message. Our Platform offering is a bit different than a marketplace setup, though it could possibly be used for a marketplace.
@foxy Thanks Josh. Got it, will do. I think I see what āmarketplaceā means here in terms of the Foxy end, and it makes sense around splitting of payments etc.
It is still in beta, but we have 100+ users using it, including multiple enterprise users. Itās solid and we feel comfortable recommending it to live stores. To confirm, itās always been possible to build your own customer portal with the API. The drop-in customer portal is whatās new and takes care of the heavy lifting code/API wise.
A dashboard for main merchant to configure commissions, payouts, etc.
Ah, awesome right - forgot that, I got that from what I read on this, it as a drop-in - so its then āskinnableā and can appear seamless UX/behavior wise just like dropping in the cart?
@foxy Yea as if, no code or low code is all of a sudden a new thing ⦠well done⦠really liking Foxy after looking at it a bunch of years ago⦠Pricing and / trans $ fees are spot on tooā¦
Sorry for hijacking this thread⦠I will post more on this topic as I look at it and how Webflow fits into the mix, especially for a robust CATEGORY mgmt and PRODUCT CATALOG mgmt end of things, but pricing for anything large starts falling down thereā¦
Hi @DavidK
No worries at all. Please donāt hesitate to reach out if you have any follow up questions. To confirm, since products are managed with CMS, you can setup the category structure however you want (though there are some limitations with Webflow in general). Also, you can use tools like Jetboost to bring in even more power.
Indeed I will⦠@foxy ⦠So helpful, didnāt know about Jetboost - interesting. I think Webflow eCommerce for category/product management is ok, but a big store will hit a limit on # of collections / CMS items (products, categories etc. etc.) at the price points/limits.
My current thinking is Foxy <ā> SpreeCommerce <ā> with a bunch Webflow for the rest of the marketing for products⦠Spree seems awesome with itās robust Taxonomy/Taxons and management, and as itās Open Source, and RoR based⦠But, content marketing in WF, product PIM, but hybrid PIM, and inventory mgmt using Spreeā¦
@foxy Yea, I will⦠I donāt want to be on the hook for all the vital aspects Foxy provides, partnering with you gives me a more robust team there looking after that end. Spree can obviously provide the actual UI cart, and all that. I guess I have to see how to make the hand off, pass between, see where the hook is, as yea⦠I donāt think I have seen anyone doing this. But, itās not really different than say: VueStoreFront + Spree, as a headless ecommerce. Thats a pretty proven thing. Foxy is just doing way more in my scenario⦠Probably missing something though hereā¦
@foxy hii all,
just read this thread and it is really interesting!
im looking to create a website with webflow that will have around 50 vendors defined in ther cms as semi admins users. all new users will choose their semi admin and will pay them X emount every month. so it is not really a marketplace but it needs the ability to pay to one of the 50 semi admins.
can it be done with your tools?
Hi @DuoDiv.
Thanks posting. Sounds like an interesting project for sure. Weād definitely need more info to confirm. Payout functionality can get pretty complex. Mind emailing us at hello@foxy.io We can pick up the conversation there and I can loop in other team members as needed.
