Little help here please

So I put a div block inside of a section. Then I add a class to the div and assign a background image (or just a color). All is well until I go into preview mode and I cannot see the div block with the image (or background color).
Whats going on here?

Give the div a height or a padding and it will show. Empty divs are invisible untill you give them a height
