Hi there

I’m having trouble getting Google to index my page. It’s “Crawled - currently not indexed”

The Sitemap status shows “Couldn’t fetch” but I can access the sitemap with no issues.

Hi Desiree,

To speed up the indexing process for your site, you’ll need to complete two main steps:

First, verify your site ownership through Google Search Console. Once verified, you can submit your sitemap by:

  1. Going to Google Search Console
  2. Selecting your property
  3. Entering “sitemap.xml” in the input field
  4. Clicking Submit

Second, ensure your Webflow sitemap settings are properly configured:

  1. Navigate to your site’s Page settings
  2. Go to SEO settings
  3. Verify the auto-generated sitemap is enabled
  4. Check that Sitemap indexing is toggled “on” for all pages you want indexed

I completed those steps last week, and the screenshots are from today. So I am not sure how to resolve.

It’s very common for google search console to fail on the first sitemap submission. Just re-submit it, exact same URL;

Hi, I can see your website is indexed in Google. Your website has only 3 pages. Home, privacy & terms. Your sitemap produces 3 URLs. Among them, you need not index /terms & /privacy.Your home page is already indexed. I am sure “Crawled-currently not indexed” refers to a URL which is not important to index. Maybe /terms or /privacy. Simply you can avoid this or fix this. Or you can generate custom sitemap for your only one page by FREE Webflow Custom Sitemap Generator

Had this happen on a client site,usually means the sitemap isn’t being served with the right headers or Google’s still seeing a redirect. Check Search Console’s “URL Inspection” tool on the sitemap URL itself, and make sure it’s submitted as https://www.taxsherpa.au/sitemap.xml (exact casing matters). Also confirm your robots.txt isn’t blocking it.
