I’m creating an illustration portfolio so the images have to be a decent size. When I upload my images it says the file size is too large and will slow down loading time. The images are about 580kb. What is the ideal size so they will still load quickly. Also, some images don’t even show up, instead a smaller picture icons appears. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!
For illutration images on a website one try not to exceed 150ko. Now if you have gorgeous fullscreen backgrounds of 1200 or 1400px base, it can grow up 250ko. Now if your purpose is to display a gorgeous, immense photo as a photographic work,ignore Webflows’ message and proceed with your image. Empty all caches and test your site on desktop, mobile in various conditions, you’ll decide if it’s too slow or not.
