How to compress uploaded images on Webflow?

Hello,

I have thousands of images uploaded to my webflow website and I was wondering if there is any way I can compress them on Webflow without going through tinypng and other tools which will require me to reupload these images again?

Would love some recommendations on image optimisation best practises.

Thanks,

Hi @Rahul_Khanna,

As far as I know, there’s no way to compress or optimize the images via Webflow. I know it’s a lot of work to re-upload that many images, but if that’s the route you go I’d recommend ImageOptim’s desktop app. You can drag multiple images in at a time, and it will optimize them all and update the files in whatever folder they were in to start.

I hope that helps!

Thank you! @blakelam

Use the ShortPixel tool! It is a free web service and a WP plugin. It helps in working with multiple images at once. Sorry to say that you will need to reupload the images after compressing them.

TinyPNG is very good.
But i hope Webflow can add a buildin version of that into the core Webflow designer.

Do you know how to implement TinyPNG API

Hi @Rahul_Khanna

I just came across this same issue and found https://optimizer.flowbase.co/

worked great for me! Let me know if it does for you too!

Here is a link to a tutorial that walks you through the question, and then the solution from start to finish.

One of our customers had a similar issue so we wrote a script that allows you to easily compress image uploads.
