How to Allow Editors to Edit Localized (French) Version of My Site in Webflow?

Hi everyone,

I’ve built a website using Webflow and recently added a French locale using the localization feature. Now, I’d like to allow my client (who has Editor access) to edit the French version of the site—mainly text content—through the Webflow Editor.

However, I can’t seem to find a clear way to give them access to the localized content. Is there a way to allow Editors to edit the French version directly, just like they would the default site content?

Would really appreciate any guidance or suggestions on how to achieve this.

Thanks in advance!

Hey Pradeep,

The legacy editor that you access via ?edit doesn’t support localization but Build mode in the designer does.

Currently that requires a paid seat, or else for the client to fully own the site in their own workspace ( and you are invited as a guest on an agency / freelancer account )

This year Webflow will deprecate the legacy editor and migrate your current editor seats to “Client Seats” which are free and part of your agency / freelancer setup.

A lot to understand there, but your basic options are;

  • Wait until Webflow migrates them
  • Buy a “limited seat” now, and give your client access through the designer
  • Transfer the site to your client’s own account. Note they can completely destroy it that way if they don’t know what they’re doing, or touch things they shouldn’t- they’ll have full owner access.
