This might be a really simple thing i may be overlooking that’s been driving me crazy for the past two days… I setup an “Ecommerce Collections” with 4 Products. None of them are assigned to any categories. Created a bunch of “Categories” and did not assign any items. When I create a “Category Template” from Ecommerce Collection, all my “Categories” display all 4 items in my Ecommerce Collection… Why?
Because a template page allows you to map elements to fields in that template’s collection (in this case the collection is Categories). So by adding a collection list with Products as a source it will display all items in that collection (Products) unless you filter them.
The benefit of the Categories template could then be to filter the products by ‘Current Category’.
