Help with DKIM authentication setup

Hello Team,

I’m running into an issue while trying to set up DKIM authentication for our domain, with Mandrill / Mailchimp setup steps.

I’ve reviewed the guide “Set the root domain as the default domain on SSL hosting” in the Help Center, but I’m encountering a specific limitation.

Our situation:

a) Our Domain registrar: Eclipse Broadband

b) Need to create DKIM records for Mandrill email authentication

c) Trying to create two CNAME records with custom values

The problem:

When attempting to create the required CNAME records in Webflow’s publishing / domain management page:

  1. I can enter the record name (e.g., mte1._domainkey.oneplusone.org.uk)

  2. However, when I try to set the value (dkim1.mandrillapp.com), the system automatically defaults to a Webflow domain and doesn’t allow custom values

  3. Eclipse (our domain registrar) doesn’t provide DNS management tools in their portal to modify this (i have reached out to their team)

I need to create two specific CNAME records for DKIM:

mte1._domainkey.oneplusone.org.uk → dkim1.mandrillapp.com
mte2._domainkey.oneplusone.org.uk → dkim2.mandrillapp.com

Any guidance on how to proceed with this setup when using Webflow would be appreciated.

Best regards,
Matt

Hi Matt,

While Webflow’s DNS management primarily focuses on essential records like A records, CNAME records for www, and TXT records for Webflow verification, you can set up DKIM authentication and Mandrill/Mailchimp configurations through a third-party DNS management service like Cloudflare. This will give you the flexibility to create and manage additional custom DNS records while maintaining your Webflow hosting.

Hopefully this helps! If you still need assistance, please reply here so somebody from the community can help.

Hi Matt,

Nameservers are usually managed by your registrar, in your case Eclipse Broadband. You’d enter your DNS records there.
