I I’m waaaaaaay too late to help you Fiona, but figured I’d post for future readers.
You can use Webflow interactions to show/hide inputs in your form, and then use the javascript from the article below to change wether they are required or not. If the inputs stay hidden, then they are not required. It’s really handy to be able to control which sections are visible just using Webflow interactions
