Desktop Canvas size defaulting to 2214?

Hi,
I’m a newbie and not sure what the canvas size width should be for desktop
I keep changing it to 1920 (is that right?)
but when I click to see mobile etc and come back to desktop view it defaults to 2214?
does anyone know why this is and what I should make it and keep it as?
I’m designing a folio website where I want all my photos to be 100% vw
