Hello! I am brand new to webflow. Been studying the tutorials for the past couple weeks and now am going to finally make my 1st site.
I am trying to replicate a wordpress theme I have found. What is the best way of doing this?
I read a lot about how everyone asks about working in webflow and then transferring to wordpress but I want to take a design in wordpress and clone/copy it into webflow then modify it from there. Is this possible? If not, what is another work around?
The best way would be to put the template on a second screen and just build it out in webflow while referencing the design. For instance, the header is just a slider with a min-height set, and then inside that is a div (Container) with content inside of that.
There isn’t an easy wordpress theme import, but just start learning the platform and before you know it you’ll be able to build something like this with ease inside of webflow.
Agree with @Thomas_92 - looks very achievable in Webflow.
Another approach you can take is find a similar free wireframe or template at templates.webflow.com and open the Designer view - you can then kind of reverse engineer and learn that way, seeing which settings were chosen to build the site in Webflow.
A good learning workflow would be the 1. university videos 2. try and build out the site 3. refer to a Webflow template’s settings where you get stuck…or shout here on the forum
Thank you very much for responding to my post.
Yes, I have noticed that the best way for me to take full advantage of the university videos would be to actually have a second screen up as well, so that I can follow along in the Designer while the video is playing.
