When I try to use the Blog Text to bring in my post content, it’s completely buggy. I’m pasting plain, unformatted text from MS Word and when it goes into the RTB, it combines words throughout the post, when I try to modify it, words will randomly duplicate or disappear in the middle of paragraphs and then when I try to delete, the text won’t delete at all or else I have to type over it with random letters in order to remove content. After I select Save Draft and reopen the post, all the text that I supposedly deleted, is back in the post. I’ve tried to switch browsers from Safari to Chrome and the issues remain. I just want to upload my post content…I can’t imagine why this is so hard but it’s making adding post content completely unusable.
THIS IS THE WORD DOC I’M COPYING FROM WHICH LOOKS FINE…
Hi @nikkisart,
Lately I am experiencing the same issues.
For me pasting the text in the browser’s URL field and then copying it into the rich text, solved the issue as a workaround.
But it is definitely a bug which needs to be looked into.
To be honest “plain unformatted text” and “ms word” are two incompatible things. Even if you think it looks absolutely plain and totally unformatted it usually has some styles that can and most likely will get caught with the text while copying. The best bet is to paste your text from any plain text editor (windows notepad, atom, brackets, notepad++, visual studio code, sublime text, dozens of them)
Pasting from Word is almost always a bad idea, it contains clutter and other trash. Go - as above mentioned - through an other app like notepad or sublime text
Ok…I will use the ‘notepad’ or ‘textedit’ method going forward and let you know if I continue having the same issue…Thanks so much for everyone’s feedback.
I wish there was an option in Webflow (much like there is in Wordpress) where you can paste as plain text and therefore strip any junk that causes the ugliness I’ve been experiencing.
