CMS-only publish from Editor goes and publishes design as well

As a collaborator I would want to publish only a new article to the live site, and ignore any design changes that may be underway. It’s on CMS.

I referred to this help documentation, and clicked “Publish 1 change” from my editor login. However, the live site got updated with staging design changes as well.

This is not great, and also contrary to what the documentation says.

Please fix it!

The blue Publish button publishes all changes (editor and designer changes) but if you hit the dropdown next to Save and then Publish below that it will only publish the CMS item you’re viewing.

@CaitlinRSE That’s exactly what I did! I clicked the button that says “Publish 1 change” (see screenshot), but it went and published some design changes as well :frowning:

@Veena_Prasad That’s the wrong publish button, you want to hit the white Publish button that appears when you click on the arrow next to Save. Then the dropdown appears with the options Publish and Save as Draft. You want to click the Publish above Save as Draft.

Ah okay. I will do that next time. Thanks so much for your time and patience, @CaitlinRSE

Shouldn’t that blue publish button say something else though? “Publish 1 change” is NOT what it does!

I’m having the same issue with a client, where when she goes to her site to edit some text, things that I’m working on in the designer are posted to the website. I have logged into the editor myself to see if I can figure out how to edit only changes made in the editor – but I only see one publishing option here (the blue button) the green save button with the arrow isn’t available…

Also, this guide to the editor makes no distinction regarding this issue: https://guide-to-editor.webflow.io/
