CMS Collection Pages URL

Hi.

So currently I have a CMS Collection Page with ‘Posts’ for all the blogging content. However, rather than the url just going to www.website.com/post/titlehere I was wondering if it was possible to have them organised into each category, for example rather than being www.website.com/post/jackalope-hotel it would read www.website.com/hotels/jackalope-hotel. There would need to be 5 different categories for Hotels, Branding, Stay, Wine & Dine and Interviews.

Is there a way to achieve this without separating the posts into 5 different collection pages or am I better to do this? I was just thinking the maximum number for items in each Collection Page is 100 so rather than only being able to do 20 hotels in this Collection Page I could do 100 as each would be on their own Collection Page. Is this bad for the SEO or fine?

Please let me know if you can help. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

(how to share your site Read-Only link)

There’s no way out of that at the moment I’m afraid. Contrary to Wordpress which has a ton of URL options right out of thebox, Webflow CMS currently has only the default one. I’m very sure that this is meant to change one day soon as having control over URLs if a legitimate need and sometimes an SEO requirement.

Spreading your content over categorized pages isn’t bad for SEO as long as the site structure still makes sense. It can even be good for SEO as categorization is sometimes requested by SEO experts.

Ok. Thank you. So, another issue… you can’t duplicate collection pages can you? Therefore, what’s the best way to conquer this?

  1. put all the content of the page inside of a div under the body
  2. duplicate the div in the page
  3. inside of the duplicate div, unlink everything that’s linked to CMS (elements, images, bg, custom code variables… everything)
  4. copy paste the div inside of all your new collection template pages
  5. relink everything

I’ll pretend that this didn’t just ruin my day… do I export the collection posts as a csv file and then import into the 5 categories? Will this keep the images etc. or will I have to create again?

Just worked out you can export and import and then delete the ones you don’t want. At least that saves me a HUGE amount of time. Thank you for your help.
