Hi all,

Hi all,
How do I change the website thumbnail on the workspace?
Webflow generates project thumbnails in a workspace by capturing a snapshot of the project’s homepage. This thumbnail is automatically created when you first publish your project.
Hi Jeff.
Well I am not sure what went wrong then because I’m pretty sure I did not publish a «Page not found» homepage.
Is there anything I can do about it now?
Thank you.
Webflow might have a queue for managing this internally. I would imagine that if you made significant changes to your home page and republished that might put it into the queue to refresh. Not sure this is an issue really. Can’t you find the project without a screenshot?
Is there any way to manually trigger a new screenshot?
@thewonglv - The previous responses to the OP questions are the answer.
Ugh, dealing with the same headache here! Nothing seems to update the thumbnail, so I might just have to bite the bullet and create a blank site, then copy everything over. Shot an email to Webflow support—let’s see if they can save the day.
Hi Tina! Did you manage to get a solution from them? I’m having the same issue since an AWS outage a couple of months ago on a website that I have published many times during this time.
@danielm Yes, I found the solution! I reached out to Webflow support, and they manually fixed it on their end after I duplicated my homepage and reduced its load. Here’s the scoop:
Webflow’s Explanation:
“This issue usually occurs when the homepage is too heavy for our screenshot processor, causing it to time out.”
Steps I Followed:
1. Duplicate the homepage:
2. Reach out to Webflow support: Once the duplicate was live, I contacted them so they could rerun the screenshot processor and update the site thumbnail.
3. Revert to the original homepage: After they processed the thumbnail, I reset the homepage back to my original and published the site again.
