I hope this is the right area where you wonderful experts of Webflow can help me.
I am trying to add a new field to my blog post collection on our site. The fields i want to create are Meta Title and Meta Description and this is done over a plain text field. When i press add field, fill out the parameters and press “Save Collection”, nothing actually saves. Nothing changes, its like the action i carried out never happened. I am not a Webflow “Expert” but do have a very good understanding of how things work and this has baffled me.
Any help from anyone would be so much appreciated.
It’s not possible to see anything without your readonly link- however my first guess would be that you have a browser extension or corrupted cache that’s interfering with the designer.
Try logging in and make that change in Chrome’s incognito mode, which will have a clean cache and no extensions, see if it works there.
Are you certain the field was not created in the CMS?
Again without the link, I can’t tell if you’re not sure where to look and how to connect it, or whether it’s actually not working - which would cause a lot of people messaging here
Thanks Sanjay- I can confirm they’re not in the Blog Post collection.
If you’re sure that it’s not a browser extensions / cache conflict, then another possibility is UX confusion.
When you create a field, you have to save that field, and then also save the collection changes for the change to apply.
I’d try again and read the messages carefully just in case you missed something in that process.
With your help, i think i have solved it. When i created the field, i pressed the “View Connections” tab, which then asked me to save or disregard the changes. As i pressed saved, the field saved and then of course i pressed save collection. I will now go and see if the rest works.
