Add a starting element to a grid that is also a collection list

Hi everyone, thanks in advance for your help.

I am trying to do something like this where we have an additional element at the beginning that is not a part of the CMS collection list.

(example is from another website, not my own)

Is there any way to do this? I saw some posts about custom code but im not sure what they are referring to.

My advice would be to just have that as a static element - and not powered by CMS. I would use a flexbox to display the CMS items - so you can space them out correctly. If you provide a share link, it may be easier to show you if you needed a hand?
