Writing a blog in Webflow is a pain. Can I export my article written on Sunstack, Medium, or any other editor that takes care of the formatting, to Webflow? Otherwise it’s slowing us down hugely. I don’t care about the size of the spacing or padding between the paragraphs. I just want to write and publish asap.
Webflow’s CMS offers several options for managing and importing your content. The built-in draft system allows you to create and edit posts directly in Webflow before publishing. You can save multiple versions of your content, preview changes, and publish when ready.
For bulk content migration, Webflow supports CSV imports. If your current platform (Sunstack, Medium, or others) allows CSV exports, you can transfer your content by formatting it according to Webflow’s CSV requirements. Additionally, you can copy and paste content directly into Webflow’s rich text editor, maintaining most basic formatting.
Hopefully this helps! If you still need assistance, please reply here so somebody from the community can help.
Best bet is to write in Substack/Medium, export as Markdown or HTML, then paste into Webflow’s rich text field , formatting usually sticks fine. For larger batches, convert to CSV and import straight into the CMS.
If you do bulk upload through CSV, make sure your Rich Text fields are formatted using minified HTML otherwise you may have some issues with formatting during import
My preferred path is Google Doc → copy paste into Webflow rich text.
The styling is already simple and clean, and Webflow converts it well.
Google Docs also supports paste of image data directly from the clipboard, and then copying the content from Google Docs will contain those image URLs, so Webflow can absorb them better.
Saves some steps on the article assembly.
Even better, Google Docs is free, works on multiple devices, supports team editing well, has great security controls, and supports an offline mode and full change tracking history. There is a built-in voice transcriber as well, depending on your writing style.
